After 11 years, we have finally decided to tie the knot!

Dress Code

Semi-formal for the ceremony (e.g. suits and cocktail dresses), but most importantly, we want you to be comfortable throughout the entire day.

If the weather is nice, we hope for an outdoor ceremony. The outdoor location has an uneven surface, so please wear comfortable footwear, along with any sun protection.

How to get there

Public Transport: New Mills Central railway station is a (very steep) 5 minute walk from the venue. There is a regular trainline from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield that runs through New Mills.

Parking: The main parking lot is at the postcode SK22 3HS, at the end of Torrvale Road (Google Maps link)
This is less than a minute's walk from the ceremony point at The Quarry Level. There is room for 40-50 cars with 4 dedicated EV Spots.

Food

Canapés will be served after the ceremony at 2.30pm.

Dinner will be served to ceremony guests at 4pm, along with a snack for evening guests at 9pm.

As is it quite a late ceremony, please make sure to eat before coming to avoid being hungry.

Photographs

There will be a professional photographer during the ceremony, so we would prefer people to keep their phones away and be present in the moment. You are welcome to take photos throughout the rest of the day.
We will send a link for you to upload your photos to a shared album after the day.

People can smoke and vape outside on the Weaving Shed just outside the Cotton Mill. Ash trays and a cigarette bin are provided. All other areas are strictly no smoking or vaping.

Other

The bar accepts card and contactless only.

If you would like some downtime throughout the day, feel free to roam around the Torrs Riverside Park.

If you have any other questions, drop us a Whatsapp!

Torr Vale Mill is a grade II listed building and one of the longest-running cotton mills from the Industrial Revolution. At one point, it made baby blankets for the NHS. Surrounded by the river and the trees, we chose this venue because it bridges our shared northern working-class roots and love of the outdoors.
